17-Year Old Black Student With 4.3 GPA Awarded $2m In Scholarships, Accepted Into 38 Colleges

Amia Jackson, a senior at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, Illinois, has been admitted to 38 institutions (and counting) and has received nearly $2 million in scholarship offers.

Amia is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, as well as the National Honor Societies for Math, English, World Languages, and Civitas. She has a 4.3 GPA and is a member of the Student Council and Varsity Club.

She has participated in basketball, volleyball, and, most recently, varsity bowling over the years. Throughout her high school career, she was named Student of the Quarter in World Language and Student of the Quarter in Career & Technical Education.

During the epidemic, Amia also volunteered with groups such as Bag Lady Outreach, Catholic Charities, and Senior Assistance. She claims that despite the loss of close ones over the last year, she has been able to remain focused.

She has yet to determine which university she will attend, but she intends to major in Business Management and obtain her real estate license after graduation.
