It was reported earlier that The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau has been in self-isolation after his wife got in from London with ‘flu-like symptoms’.

The Prime Minister’s wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau however, tested positive to the viral deadly coronavirus after going through a series of medical tests.

The communications director for the Canadian Prime Minister in a statement said;

“Following medical recommendations, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau was tested for COVID-19 today. The test came back positive. Also following medical advice, she will remain in isolation for the time being. She is feeling well, is taking all the recommended precautions, and her symptoms remain mild.”

It also included this about his health status;

“Prime Minister Trudeau is in good health with no symptoms. As a precautionary measure and following the advice of doctors, he will be in isolation for a planned period of 14 days. Also on the advice of doctors, he will not be tested at this stage since he has no symptoms. For the same reason, doctors say there is no risk to those who have been in contact with him recently.”

Prime Minister Justin Tradeau is however, in a good health condition although he will still be continuing with the self-isolation for 14 days as a precautionary measure.

The meetings he had scheduled for the week with the premiers and indigenous leader has been moved. The planned address to the Canadians he was to deliver on March 13 has also been put on hold also.

It is important to remember that the World Health Organisation has declared the viral coronavirus a pandemic on Wednesday, March 11. The virus has killed over 4000 people. The symptoms of the virus include shortness of breath, coughing, and fever; it spreads quickly and doesn’t show signs until after 14 days of exposure to the virus.
