“Tithing is Not Biblical” Says Wealthy Black Pastor Creflo Dollar, Who Made A Fortune From Tithes

Creflo Dollar, a well-known pastor from Atlanta whose megachurch has collected tens of millions of dollars in donations from teaching the prosperity gospel over the years, is now declaring that tithing is not biblical, acknowledging that he made a mistake in his teachings.

Dollar can be seen on a YouTube video ordering his congregation to dispose of all of his books, CDs, and films preaching about the significance of tithing in order to obtain blessings.

He claims to have realized that tithing is an Old Testament concept that no longer applies to New Testament believers. He also stated that he is aware that he would lose friends as a result of what he is saying, but he wishes to speak the truth.

Dollar has been known for teaching the prosperity gospel for nearly 40 years and owns beautiful automobiles, houses, and a private jet thanks to the generous donations of his flock. This concept frequently encourages churchgoers to give 10% of their assets and earnings to the church in order to enjoy God’s blessings. He now claims to solely teach the gospel of “grace-based giving.”

IRRESPONSIBILITY HAS A STRANGE FACE FOR IT PRETENDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE WHEN IT IS N OT. BROTHER CREFFLO, YOU ARE DOING OR HAVE DOEN A LOT MORE DAMAGE TO THE BODY OF CHRIST THAN YOU WILL ACCEPT.
YOU ARE CLAIMING YOU WANT TO TELL THE TRUTH. WELL, NO PROBLEM, TELL IT.
YOU SAY THAT A PART OF THE OLD TESTAMENT SHOULD NOT BE APPLIED TO THE NEW. WHAT ELSE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT SHOULD NOT BE CARRIED FORWARD? YOU OWE US THAT.
TITHES IS NOT BIBLICAL, IS THIS CORRECT? THE BIBLE DOES NOT SUPPORT YOUR CONTENTION. TRUTH IS THAT EVEN AS YOU SPEAK IN THIS WAY, YOU ARE STILL ADVOCATING GIVING. WHY SHOULD PEOPLE GIVE AT ALL? HOW ARE PEOPLE GOING TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE GIVING BECAUSE OF WHO GOD IS AND WHAT HE HAS DONE, IF THEY DONT KNOW OR UNDERSTAND THIS?
SINCE YOU BELIEVE YOUR EARLIER WORK MISSED THE POINT, WHICH IS ALL YOU ARE REALLY SAYING, NOW THAT YOU HAVE REFINED YOUR UNDERSTANDING, MIGHT IT HAVE BEEN BETTER TO SHARE THOSE NEW UNDERSTANDINGS AND CHRISTIANS CAN NOW SEE, WHAT THEY ALREADY BOUGHT FROM THE WORLD OF CHRISTIANITY, IN NEED OF UP DATE AND GO IN THAT DIRECTION. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH EASIER BUT INSTEAD YOU MADE IT LOOK LIKE GIVING SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN; HOW MISGUIDED PEOPLE ARE FOR DOING IT WHEN IN FACT, YOU ARE TAKING THEM TO GIVING ALL OVER….THIS DOES NOT APPEAR GENUINE AND INDEED, I SEE IT AS TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE. YES, YOU HAVE GONE THROUGH SOME HELL AND HAVE RECOVERED BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO FRUSTRATE GOD’S PEOPLE AS YOU HAVE.
    WITH THIS.
THEN THERE IS SO MUCH LEFT UNANSWERED IN THIS ‘NEW’ THINKING YOU ARE PIONEERING. FOR IF YOU CANNOT CARRY FORWARD ONE THING, WHAT ABOUT THE OTHERS?
YOU LITERALLY SET THE FOLLOWIONG IN CONFUSION. IF THIS WAS YOUR THINKING, CONFERENCE COULD HAVE BEEN HAD WITH BROTHER COPELAND AND OTHERS, SO THAT SOME REFINEMENT COULD TAKE PLACE. YOU HAVE DOEN FAR MORE DAMAGE THAT GOOD.
I HOPE YOU WILL RETHINK THIS AND ALLOW THE HOLY TO GIVE YOU A NEW DIRECTION AND WAY OF THE KINGDOM….THIS IS TOO MUCH DAMAGE…AND MIGHT HAVE GONE TOO FAR.
